Seminar Promoting Strategies To Fill Your Event How to Get Cheeks In the Seats By Thinking Outside The BunsĀ Strategy 1.0 - Your List Have you ever been asked if you have a list? And I don’t mean for groceries, however that could be another interesting subject for another time.  Your List is the names of people in your database that you have acquired or better yet that they opted-in to be part of.  There are several ways to grow a list and, you could offer a free report or information, you could sell a low-cost product, joint venture with someone who has a list, etc.  Actually, how you grow Your List is not the topic of our conversation at the moment.  In fact that is again, another interesting subject for another time so let’s just add it to our grocery list. So, let’s say just for the fun of it that you wanted 100 people in your seminar, it could cost you between $10,000 and $20,000 to get them there.  Wow!  Imagine the promoters who think they can get 300, 500 or even more people to their event makes you think twice doesn’t it?  Well, it should.  Done the wrong way this can cost you a lot of money. Now you might think that is pretty good but actually this method of promoting is very difficult, you see you have to spend thousands of other dollars to produce the copy, advertisements, radio clips, etc.  And then you are still not ensured that you attracted the right person to your event.  Because with this type of promoting, you typically are attracting people who will come for free or a very very low registration price.  So you see, already unless you have a great backend (more on that another time, just add it to our grocery list) you have already lost money upfront trying to promote the event and you haven’t even really started. Seminar promoting is not just about getting any ole cheek in the seat.

What I am talking about here is using…

"Your List" to fill events.

Did you know that the most difficult part of promoting a workshop, seminar, bootcamp, event or whatever you want to call it; is getting the cheeks in the seats?  It’s not that easy!  In fact many promoters who make seminars their business and it can be a BIG business with BIG dollars attached, will actually pay to put people in the rooms.  In some cases they may pay $100 per head to fill a seminar.  Depending upon the topic of the seminar though this could range from $100 to $150 and even $200 per head. What do I mean by per head?  Well, it means the cost that the promoter incurred for advertising either through direct mail, radio, or perhaps TV to entice someone (with a head of course) to attend their event.  For every one person, that promoter spent between $100 and $200 dollars to get them in the room.

It’s about getting the RIGHT cheek in the seat and of course the left one that goes with it! One way to ensure you are getting the right cheeks in the seats is through Your List.  Why?  Because they are the most qualified to attend your event.  Consider them the bulls eye of your target market, the lowest hanging fruit which is the easiest to reach right?  You see they have already made a commitment to you in some way or fashion or they wouldn’t be on Your List. A relationship has begun between you and that fruit  And that relationship, especially if you have nurtured it, is what is going to get them to come to your event. Now, not all the cheeks on Your List  are going to come to your event.  You will only get a percentage that will continue to follow you and attend live trainings  But here’s a secret for you.

Ssshhhhhhhh!  This is Top Secret!

Out of all the various ways to get cheeks in the seats

Your List is the Number 1 Strategy Numero Uno Baby!   It will be the most successful, the most qualified and the most cost-effective method.  Think about it, they are already on Your List.  So, do you have to pay to start a new relationship?  No.  You are just accessing what you already have your low hanging cheeks. Here’s another secret for you in promoting your event, expect 80% or more of the attendees to come from¦ you guessed it,  Your List!  Keep in mind, no body loves your event like you do, it’s like a baby.  And no one is going to work as hard as you to get the cheeks in the seats. So if you are counting on speakers, affiliates, etc. (I will go in to detail on these methods later;  geeze our grocery list is getting long) you are putting your eggs in the wrong grocery basket.  These methods work, but they will not produce the greatest results when it comes to promoting. Your List will produce the greatest results. So where do you go from here?  Go tell Your List how much you love them and start taking care of them.  Keep the relationship alive and when you are ready to promote your event Your List will be ready to go to the next level with You!!
